Dragon Models continue their range of the Focke-Wulf Ta152 with the release of a 1/48 Focke-Wulf Ta152C-1/R14.
Dragon’s newest 1/48 scale model depicts the proposed Ta 152C-1/R14 variant, which had a 30mm MK 108 cannon and four 20mm MG 151/20 weapons, as well as a torpedo stowed under the belly for attacking enemy shipping. However, Focke-Wulf assembly plants were overrun before the Ta 152C-1 began rolling off assembly lines so it never actually saw combat in the hands of the Luftwaffe. This plastic kit builds upon the success of the previously released Ta 152C-0, but it adds the formidable-looking torpedo. The cowling for the aircraft’s Daimler-Benz 12-cylinder DB 603LA has also been modified to provide the correct details. After enjoying Dragon’s famous build quality and engineering excellence, modelers can finish off their fighter with some high-quality decals from Cartograf. Equipped with its torpedo, this new Focke-Wulf is ready to go “fishing”!

Hi Andy A sample of the kit arrived yesterday, so I'll get on with the review as soon as I can. All the best Rowan

I see Dragon have reworked the airintake and cooler behind the prop in comparison to the C-0 edition. That's nice. It would be also nice if they release a correction set for C-0 now as this is the only thing which prevents me from starting this model

It looks like they corrected the radiator, I built one of the earlier Dragon Ta 152C kits and the poorly done radiator really let down the overall impression of it. Why did they not get it right before now? Its not like there were no photographs of the Ta 152C to look at when they designed the earlier kit. Matrixone

hi, I wonder if they corrected the wrong engraving of the landing flaps. the corrected angular cooler is obvious, maybe they corrected the wrong placement of the wing spar and arresting mechanism of the u/c in the instructions as well? then it will be the definite Ta 152 C in 1/48! sincerely ralf

Hi Ralf Sadly the flaps and ailerons are unchanged. All the best Rowan

Not only are the flaps and ailerons incorrect, the leading edge of the wings are kind of blunt looking. I have the new HobbyBoss Ta 152C kit and after looking at it that kit is not much better than the earlier Dragon Ta 152C. This new corrected kit of the Dragon Ta 152C should be the best kit of this aircraft in 1/48 scale on the market...even with the problems with the wings. Matrixone

I have to say that the hobby boss afford is wrong in many places: front cooler nonsense cockpit consoles with a lot of phantasy detail under the wing are covers for outboard Mg..........with a lot of good will one may think of an hybrid Ta 152 C prototype from focke wulf, not a pre production model square diameter of the aft fuselage....... (best i like the box illustration: extended boarding ladder in flight) so rescribing the landing flaps and correct positioning of the wing spar and the u/c locking makes the dragon kit easily the best available Ta 152 C- kit
