November sees Revell-Monogram release two new aircraft kits both in 1:48 scale. Covering two propulsion categories they're releasing the two prop B-25J Gun Nose and the jet propelled EA-6A.
1:48 B-25J 'Gun Nose' Mitchell

Used throughout WWII, the B-25 Mitchell was adapted to many different roles making it a superb multi-purpose aircraft. From tactical bombing to aerial surveillance, sub-marine hunter missions and low-level strafing, the B-25 proved to be a vital component in the defeat of Imperial Japan. The definitive version of the “Mitchell” was the B-25J, and it was optimized in the “hard nose” B-25J equipped with eight .50 caliber machine guns which took an incalculable toll on enemy shipping.

Some of the kits features include:

  • Highly detailed interior and weighted tires

  • Optional bomb bay open or closed with bomb load

  • Decal markings included for B-25J-32, “Sunday Punch”, 12th Bomb Group, CBI, 1945 and B25J-10, 44-29375, 17th Reconnaissance (Bomb) Squadron, 31st TRG, Lingayen, Luzon, 1945

  • Molded in light gray and clear

1:48 EA-6A Wild Weasel

Developed as an evolutionary variant of the original Grumman A2F-1H, the EA-6A was constructed as a dedicated Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) and Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) aircraft. Its primary mission was to "jam" enemy surface-to-air missile radar emissions to protect U.S. Navy and Marine attack aircraft.

Kit features include:

  • External ordnance includes ALQ-76 jamming pods, two shrike missiles, ALE-41 chaff dispenser pod plus external fuel tanks

  • Detailed landing gear and cockpit with two crew figures

  • Authentic markings for EA-6A BUNO 156988, US Navy, VAQ-33 "Firebirds" NAS Key West, Florida, the only active duty Navy squadron to fly the "Electronic Intruder" and EA-6A "Electronic Intruder", BUNO 156986, US Marines VMCJ-1, 1966/1975

Look for these kits at your favorite local hobby store or online retailer.

Hi Bryan Cool! I'll definitely look out for the B-25 - I've got the cannon and glass-nosed versions, but somehow missed the 8-gun nose. All the best Rowan
