Trumpeter will be releasing a 1/48 JF-17 Thunder, the date of release is unknown at present.
The kit will have 220 parts. No other details are available at this moment on release dates etc. The Cad-Images are nice though.

The JF-17 Thunder , also known in China as the Chengdu FC-1 Fierce Dragon is a light-weight multi-role combat aircraft jointly developed by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation of China and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex of Pakistan. The "JF" and "FC" designations stand for "Joint Fighter" and "Fighter China" respectively.

Our thanks to Trumpeter for the Images.

This looks like an interesting subject for a kit. I love modern Chinese fighters and hope to see more done in 1/48 scale by manufacturers who can be counted on to do the kits as they should be done. I've been sort of browsing around online looking for pics of this fighter painted in different schemes. Customers: Azerbaijan, China, Pakistan. Probable customers: Sudan, Zimbabwe. Possible Customers: Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Nigeria.
