Flying leathernecks is close to releasing the BSU-85 air inflatable retarded bomb with two type of fuses in 1/48 scale
”BSU-85 is DONE!!!
The Mk-83 1000lb bomb was used extensively by the US Navy and Marine Corps during Operation Desert Storm. Typically configured with the standard conical fin or the BSU-85/B Air Inflatable Fin and either an M904 nose fuze or Mk-43 TDD.
Yours truly assembled many with several of the worlds finest Marines in the bomb dump at Sheik Isa Air Base, Bahrain in 90/91.
