Eduard will be re-releasing the 1/72 scale MiG-15bis as a ProfiPACK edition next month with five marking options
”1/72 scale MiG-15bis ProfiPACK kit’s box-art by Adam Tooby depicts Soviet fighter ace Mikhail Ivanovich Mikhin’s aircraft during aerial combat.
Mikhail Ivanovich Mikhin was born 25th of October 1923 in Bor-Forpost village. He finished his first flight training in June 1941. Later he worked as flight instructor and was transferred to 518th IAP afterwards. Pilot participated in "International Help" to Chinese and North-Korean pilots while serving in this IAP. Mikhail gathered 9 aerial victories and 3 damaged aircraft. Later pilot was awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union title and Order of Lenin.
518th IAP was famous for 4 pilots with impressive results, but only one of them - Mikhail Mikhin - became ace and received the highest award. This pilot proved that MiG-15 could rival US aircraft and shot his first Sabre on 9th of August 1952. It is important to note that all Mikhin's kills are also confirmed by US Air Forces.”
