Re-usable die-cut camo mask set
The set includes four sheets of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. Material is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.

The Su-35 is Russia’s most advanced 4th generation, all-weather supersonic aircraft. It is a deep development of Su-27 Flanker and it differs by improved avionics and modified fuselage and stabilizer shape. The vertical stabilizers are significantly shorter and the air brake was removed. The aircraft is planned to replace Su-27 and MiG-29 in the Russian Air and Naval forces. The Flanker-E is the NATO code name for Su-35 and it follows the long line of Flankers which started with Su-27 back in the 80s. During Russian intervention in Syria, Su-35 was tested extensively in real combat environment and proved to be very successful.

The Su-35 in 1/48th is available from Kitty Hawk and Great Wall Hobby. Both sets are very good, with slightly better reviews given to G.W.H. option. The camouflage schemes included in the two kits are different, however DN Models made mask set for the most famous Yellow Splinter in 48th scale to cover both of the releases. This scheme was originally assigned to Su-37, which appeared in late 90s, featuring side-stick controls, glass cockpit and canards. Those were removed on the latest Su-35 modifications which proven to be the most successful of the Flanker family.

The Su-35 Splinter or “Yellow Splinter” as it became more famous, is specially painted Su-35 option, designed to appear in air shows around the World.
The Arctic Splinter on the other hand is more of a combat-oriented camouflage, however neither of them appeared on service-used Flanker-Es. Arctic Splinter camouflage by itself is very attractive and it is one of the few 21st century designed camouflages that were applied on the Flankers.
