Eduard has posted on Facebook CAD images of their planned release of a new tool 1/48 scale Hawker Tempest
The images look like a Tempest Mk.II to me, though I’m no expert. No indication of a release date, though this project has been simmering for some time now.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here – on AEROSCALE.

Hi Tim Exciting News! It's great to see Eduard revisit the Tempest. It's not a Mk.II, though - that had a Bristol Centaurus radial engine. Maybe one will follow in due course (like Special Hobby did with their 1:32 beauties), but this looks like an early Mk.V with projecting cannon barrels. All the best Rowan

I see, thanks Rowan

I see, thanks Rowan [/quote] Yep definitely an early Mk.V. The first 100 Mk.V aircraft were fitted with four long-barrel 20 mm Mark II Hispano cannons and had some Typhoon components, and most had the smaller diameter four spoke wheels. Andy

Funny thing, I was hoping to see Tamiya making a 1/48 Tempest in a near future. Didn’t expect Eduard to revisit one of their rookie subjects outside WW1. Smart move I guess. Looking forward to see some sprues
