Dragon Models have looked back into their Luftwaffe archive and produced two new 1/48 scale kits that have never been released before.
First off is the Messerschmitt Me 262B-1A. Previously available many years ago as the later Night-Fighter version, this is the more widespread 2-Seater trainer.

As you'd expect, the kit is based on the classic TriMaster '262 - still regarded by many as the definitive kit incarnation, despite the passing years, but upgraded with a comprehensive set of new etched parts and decals.

Hot on the heals of the Me 262 comes a variant of the Ju 88 previously un-kitted by any major manufacturer - the 'A-6... complete with balloon-busting gear.

While the etched cable-slicers are sure to grab modellers' attention - just look at the cockpit... colour photo-etched details... the Far-East is paying attention to Eastern Europe...

Thanks for the news Rowan. Those kits look amazing from the pics you've posted. Especially that engine detailing on the 262. Can I ask an ignorant question about the Ju88? Why would the Luftwaffe produce an aircraft just to cut the cables for balloons? Rudi

Hi Rowan it is a start, but I hope Dragon will start bringing us new tool kits ... fingers crossed as for the "more widespread" variant ... that is something you should prove Hi Rudi this is no variant just to cut the balloons but to protect the aircraft. The extra weight and the move of the center of gravity made it a failure. The Kuto-Nase was later developed to give the crew a better protection. Remember: not the balloons were the problem, but the steel cable holding it. best wishes Steffen
