Thanks to Luciano Satornetti for an sending us an update from Airfix on their exciting new quarterscale Meatbox. Included are photos of the first test shots.
Test shots from the 1/48th scale Meteor F.8 tooling

From the feedback that we have already received, this model looks like it has really captured the imagination of modellers around the world and looks destined to be an extremely popular addition to the range. You will therefore be pleased to learn that the model is advancing towards release nicely and we have some exclusive images to show you this week.

From the original Meteor F.8 CAD images that we showed you in Workbench edition 3, it was clear that this new model would include impressive levels of detail, to accompany the already classic shape of the Gloster Meteor in this larger scale. The selection of pre-production model parts pictures we have for you this week illustrate just how good a job the Airfix designers have done with this model and will further serve to increase our expectation levels.

With a scheduled release date of April 2016, the 1/48th scale Gloster Meteor F.8 is already proving to be a real hit and will undoubtedly be a future construction project for many Workbench readers. We hope that you will find these latest images of interest.
