Hataka Hobby have prepared their first batch of acrylic VVS paints, with the first set covering the classic late war colours. This month also sees the first basic colours (matched to RAL standards) added to the company's fast-growing range.
HTK-AS20 “Late WW2 Soviet Air Force paint set”
Военно-воздушные силы (Voyenno-Vozdushnye Sily, Soviet Air Force) used a fascinating variety of colours during World War II – from early paints used until 1941, mid-war colours used from 1941 till 1943, to late war shades used from 1943 till 1945. Due to extensive operations in winter zone, VVS was also a heavy user of various temporary winter-camo techniques.

Hataka Hobby is ready to issue our first true colour paint set for VVS planes – covering all major colours used by Soviet Air Force in the late WW2 period (from July 1943 onwards) on both fighter and ground attack aircraft.

The set contains:
HTK-A070 - AMT-12 Dark Grey - Used for upper surfaces in gray-gray and gray-brown-green schemes of late war fighters and ground attack planes
HTK-A071 - AMT-11 Blue Grey - Used for upper surfaces in gray-gray camouflage of fighter planes, including Yak-1b/3/7b/9, LaGG-3, La-5F/FN and La-7
HTK-A072 - AMT-7 Greyish Blue - Used for lower surfaces in camouflage schemes of all Soviet fighter and ground attack planes since mid-1943 till end of war
HTK-A073 – AMT-4 Camouflage Green - Used for upper surfaces in gray/black-brown-green schemes of ground attack planes (incl. Il-2, Po-2, Il-10, Pe-2, Pe-8, Il-4)
HTK-A074 - A-21m Light Greyish Brown - Used for upper surfaces in gray/black-brown-green schemes of 'metal' ground attack planes (incl. Il-10, Pe-2, Tu-2, Pe-8, Il-4)
HTK-A041 - Night Black - Used in black-brown-green schemes of ground attack planes (incl. Pe-8, Il-4), also on undersurfaces of night bombers

Singular paints from the new set are also available for shipments. Orders for the new set and the singular paints are already welcome."

Has anyone been using their line of paints as their primary go to paints? Just wondering how they stack up to the major brands. Joel

Hi Joel I'm just getting set to use them "in anger". My tests so far have been very positive (see the Review - but, of course, there's no beating using them in an actual build. I'll also be keen to read feedback. All the best Rowan

Box and bottle looks suspiciously like AK´s - which is manufactured by Vallejo ?

Hi Jan That was my first thought too, but they behaved quite differently in the tests. More like Lifecolor. All the best Rowan
