Wings Models, LLC have announced the re-release of the former Eagles Talon 1/48 scale Titan II-Gemini and Atlas D missile kits. Both kits are cast in moulds made from original Eagles Talon parts masters.
Kit number WS48000 - Titan II-Gemini. The first manned Gemini mission was on 23 March 1965 with John Young & Gus Grissom piloting the 3-orbit mission. Launch vehicle for the Gemini capsule was a modified Titan II ICBM - a two-stage liquid-fuel rocket.

This kit has has 24 resin parts, 9 vacuformed parts, styrene rod/strips, 2 sections of acrylic tube for the missile body and includes a resin/vacuform Gemini capsule. It has 14 pages of instructions/diagrams and builds into a model about 24 inches tall depending on the missile version modelled. Decals are not provided.

Kit number WS48001 - Mercury-Atlas D. When NASA needed a missile booster for the manned satellite program, the reliable & available Atlas D missile needed only minor modifications to meet the need. Col. John Glenn made history on 20 February 1962, when a Mercury-Atlas D launched his "Friendship 7" space-capsule into orbit and a 4 hour-55 minute flight.

The kit has 22 resin parts, styrene rod/strips and acrylic tubing for the missile main body and nuclear warhead. A Mercury capsule adapter is provided for use Monogram or RealSpace Mercury space capsule (not supplied). It has 6-pages of instructions/diagrams and makes a model about 20 inches tall depending on the missile version modelled. Again, decals are not provided.

Both kits sell for $89.95 each plus shipping/handling.

Wings Models a planning many new and re-released kits for the near future. The XS-1, X-1 A/B, X-1 E and X-2 in both 1/48 and 1/72 scales should be ready for release within a month or so. These kits will be hollow-cast resin kits with decals and cast resin/metal detail parts.
