There's plenty for all aircraft modellers in Eduard's April line-up, with a total of four new kit releases this month along with a mass of new etched sets.
The big news is the Royal Class edition of the 1/48th scale Fokker D.VII. This contains three complete kits, with no less than 12 marking options. The decal sheet pack contains 14 sheets. Most of them are the lozenge sheets - there are three 4-colour and one 5-colour sets, for a total of 8 sheets of lozenge decals. There are colour photoetched frets, including an additional fret to cover some extra modifications. The instruction booklet has 40 pages, in full colour. The kit contains two special bonuses; a resin kit of a German WW I mobile fuel station, and a 1:1 scale replica of the Pour le Mérite medal. The Royal Class Fokker D.VII is limited to 1000 boxings and shipping will begin this week.

The second kit release is the 1/48 scale Sopwith Camel Dual Combo. The box contains two complete kits, two photo-etch sheets, decals covering 8 marking options, and a new-style instruction booklet.

The third aircraft April release is another limited edition double kit, the "L-39 Albatros Around The World Dual Combo". Quite a mouthful for a title, but it's quite a set. Two complete 1/72 kits are included this time, two colour photo-etch frets, decals for two very colourful aircraft in private collections, one from Russia and the second from California.

On the figures front, Eduard are re-releasing their the set of 1/48 scale German Luftwaffe figures, while the previously announced Japanese Air Force Personnel is available in the same scale.

Several items stand out for me among the huge number of new Eduard etched accessories. In 1/32 scale, Hasegawa Ju 87G-2 gets treated to the kind of detail it's so begging for, while jet fans will welcome two sets for Trumpeter's A-7E Corsair II. In 1/48 scale, Mirage's PZL 23 gets an interior set to complement it's already excellent cockpit.

For the future? Well, next month we can look forward to Eduard's long awaited Polikarpov I-16 Type 10 in 1/48th scale. All the sprues are ready, as well as the decals and the colour photoetched sheet, so the kit is just waiting for it's instruction booklet and final quality checks. Also coming up in 1/48 scale is the Bristol Fighter “Brisfish” in a limited edition. Like Eduard's earlier Roland CII, this Brisfit will feature a special Fish fuselage marking. The kit will also contain a fret of colour photoetch details and a set of the British WW I figures.
