3D-Kits.com have announced a new set which will enable us to convert a Spitfire VIII or IX to a late production IXc or IXe in 1:72 scale.

The set will include:

• 4-blade propeller
  
• straight pipe exhaust
  
• broad chord rudder
  
• ”E” wing cannon blisters

This is the description of the set which we got directly from the 3-D Kits:

"Following on from very well received injection moulded parts for early Spitfires, 3D-Kits have now moved up the marks to the IX. In mid March company will be releasing a 1:72 conversion set to allow an Airfix IX or a Hasegawa VIII or IX to be converted to a late production IXc or IXe. The set will provide a drop in replacement propeller of a better shape (Airfix) and correct diameter (Hasegawa), together with a pair of round exhausts, the broad chord rudder and e-wing cannon blisters. Minor modification to the original kit is required to fit the rudder and remove the c-wing blisters, but this should be straightforward for all but the novice modeller. Parts will be made from conventional injection moulded plastic formed in steel moulds, providing accuracy, good surface finish, small attachment points and repeatability. Full instructions will be provided, but no decals will be included in the set, there being plenty of after-market sets to choose from."

Priced at £3.75 the set will be available through hobby shops and direct from 3D-Kit's website."
