Probably a stupid question....but has anyone built this kit? How is it? Typical Monogram?

Looking for a different set of decals for it....I know there must be some aftermarket decals for it.....just wondering where the best place to look is? I am just not that crazy about the decals that came with it....its the reissued kit that Monogram came out with a few months ago.....looking for the reissued F-105 now. I would like to do a metalizer finish, but would also like to do a South Asian Scheme as well....may have to go buy another!!!

With all the open panels....it just screams for a dio.....although I think I would lay out the weapons a bit different. 2 Bullpup, and 2 500lb bombs? Come on....it can haul more trash than that!!!!

Like I needed to buy another kit....but it was a computer game that did it too me. Strike Fighters.....got it for my computer a couple of weeks ago.....it has the F-100, F-104, 3 varients of the A-4, and 4 of the F-4......I have a Monogram Hi tech Series of a F-4C/D Phantom in the basement.....been itching to dig it out as well. The game is pretty good...the aircraft are modeled great....and its very modable....I have downloaded a Canadian CF-104 as well as the F-105 Thunderchief......always like the F-105!!!!

I built the F-100.Nice kit.The only problems I had was the wings and gear doors.I built mine with gear up and you need to brace the doors with a piece of sprure or else they will cave in.The wings have some fit problems and I put some putty in there to fill them up.I bought another one and I am looking for a A-M cockpit to put in it.The factory cokcpit is actually pretty good for 1/48 but to get the look you need a aftermarket one.

Try here for decals: http://66.70.211.27/decals_48.htm

There is an article in this month FSM about stretching this kit into a two seater. F100 F. The April issue. Good article.

MY MAIN PROBLEM WITH THIS KIT WAS TO FIT WINGS INTO HALF UPPER AND LOWER FUSELAGE AND THE REAR OF FUSELAGE MOLDED WITH THE EXHAUST NOZZLE.
THE REST WAS PRETTY GOOD .
I`M WAITING FOR THE 1/32SCALE TRUMPETER KIT OR MAYBE HASEGAWA WILL CONTINUE HIS CENTURY FIGHTERS SERIES.

Viper if you can find an old issue of FSM from 1988 they had an article on how to super detail the f-100 you should look for it. stug
