Hi Steffen

"Wer im Glashaus sitzt ..." (Who was it said that? )

You could always have submitted a News item a month ago... :-)

Hi everyone

Seriously, I'd like to encourage all our members - please, if you spot some interesting aircraft kit announcement while you're browsing manufacturers' sites, check whether it's already on Aeroscale and, if not, submit it for publication as a News Item.

All the best

Honestly, I would go mad to report every thing, especially as I mostly filter after 1/48 for my own knowledge.

One thing I just ordered yesterday from HLJ is:

(PIX ARE FROM Heavy Steel news group; Hasegawa February release)

another great news is the Fw 190 A-5 with the BMW convertible (See e.g. Dragon USA which has a lot more news)

BTW re news: when i was at Bünte they told me the Transall was sold 15000 times in the first month!

cheers

Steffen

.. soll nicht mit Steinen werfen

Hi Rowan

Well, I think you did not use that properly here, it is meant that you should not attack others when you have the same "problems" (replace this word with any that fits) ... e.g. when I would attack you for being fat I would "throw stones while sitting in a glasshouse"

BTW In case you did not notice it I updated my post above with a link.

cheers

Hi Steffen

We have exactly the same phrase in English, so I was just having a little dig at your expense - i.e. don't moan that I'm late with the news if you knew about it and hadn't posted it yourself. :-)

Hi Jean-Luc

YES, it is!!! As soon as it is available, i will place an order with hlj ... this is a limited item and I believe it will go fast. Let's hope the BMW is injection molded, so a separate release is possible ... but I assume it will be a resin kit ... we'll see

cheers

Steffen

Hi again and again Steffen!

The "/news" is that it will be in the shops in a couple of weeks!

The "Wirbelwind" and the U.S. Cargo truck are also great subjects! I think I will stop buying resin kits and just wait until Tamiya and Hasegawa release their "high quality" injected versions!

Hi again and agian and again Jean-Luc

you are right, but I think the real next news about it will be nice sprue shots and build up models .. I hope for the UM GAZ Starter (and Cargo) truck to appear soon .. .that will make a nice dio with the GAZ 67 and some ICM crew

I have heard rumors about an Fine Molds Japanese Truck... hope it is true

The tank crew field maintenance set should also be useful for a/c guys ...

Many things will be shown at Nuremberg .. we will see then, what comes true ... OTOH the first Japanese show is also only 3 or 4 months away.

best wishes

Steffen

Here you go Steffen

Now, you can't possibly say this is old News! I've just found details of an exciting new range of kits that's likely to change the way we all build model aircraft. I really think these are pretty revolutionary!

The pic's from a wonderful site - http://www.frogpenguin.com/ - it's well worth a read through for nostalgia's sake.

??

What did I again? Honestly this is Tamiya military and available via their website (this has nothing to do with a/c! so why should anyone publish it here .. I bet it was over on Armorama).

.. If you want to have faster 1/48 mil-news, enlist to Frank Bergers Heavy Steel 1/48 military news group ... lots of info there and you get them via email if you want ... here is more old news (already mentioned above and also via Heavy Steel):

I was hoping they would come out with a 1/48 Sea Harrier,I wonder why that variation hasnt made it yet.I would also love to see a Hasegawa 1/48 quality Tornado and Mirage series, any thoughts on why Hasegawa has avoided these so far.

Hi Anthony

I agree - but for me the encouraging thing - and it's thanks to Steffen for pointing this out - is that Hasegawa have finally woken up to the possibilities that 1/48 scale aircraft-related vehicles offer. The only way that we'll see more of these from the major manufacturers is if they achieve healthy sales - so the Follow-Me Jeep and the BMW are at the top of my list!

Hi Guys

@ Anthony .. ask the Suck'n'Blow guys about a TA-4 Skyhawk .. it also took em quite a while to make a TF-104 .. so I guess it is just a matter of time

@Rowan .. welll unfortunately the BMW comes with a Fw 190 A-5 :-) :-) :-) I am not convinced (yet) that the BMW will be IM .. could be resin short run .. time will tell.

My greater hopes are in Tamiya here .. Especially we need an IM Opel Blitz!! ... unfortunately 1/48 is a dead marked for Revell so they will not produce accessories or mil vehicles ---- I ASKED!!! .. honestly I begged, because we won't see an Unimog Flugfeldschlepper or Wolf or Iltis or Bulli (T3/T4) from other manufacturers .. IM that is, the PJP Bulli T2b is nice

best wishes

Hi Steffen

Yeah... I know, but I feel duty-bound to encourage them! Does it come with a figure of "Pips" Priller?!

We all have to be realistic - the "majors" will only ever produce what they see a market for. If we want to see mass-produced airfield accessories, we have to prove we're prepared to buy them. I had such high hopes when Tamiya started their 1/48 scale series that they'd "build outwards" from an aircraft-related core. Sadly, that hasn't proved true - and I know many UK retailers that simply won't stock the kits because they just can't see a market.

If Hasegawa can help get things back on course for a co-ordinate system of quarter-scale releases (I'm in danger of repeating the hopes raised 35 years ago over Bandai kits!) we can all look forward to affordable, quality, vehicles for our vignettes / dioramas.

There was an "if" in there... let's all just hope this isn't just the latest false start. Common sense says it's got to come together one day... but when has common sense ever prevailed?...

All the best

Rowan
