I am having problems trying to determin if the scissor links on the undercarriage of F4U Corsairs is hollowed out, or solid as depicted on the Tamiya Corsair. I have searched through all of my references and many pictures on the web but have not been able to find the answer. My guess is that they would have been hollowed out to save weight but it's the shape of the hole or holes that I need to know.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Here's a pic from the kiwi site. It looks like they may be hollow but I can't be positive.

Thanks Tin_Can, excellant set of pictures and yep it looks as if its hollow. No one seems to photograph the wheel area from the other side, which would be the perfect shot. May be a tech manual will be the key

Heres my two cents for what its worth. Boeing aircraft maintanes a fine web site.
They store alot of info on many aircraft, including the corsair you might try this
they seem to a have link were you can get info and plans, though I have yet
to see it. I dont have the site name but search for boeing aircraft it will pop up.
