These two were in town for a few days. Thought you folks would like to see them. I would post more, but the camera died on me. The 17 is "909". They are both from the Collings foundation. Enjoy. "Q"

They were is Ketchikan, Alaska about 4 years ago. They certainly are nice aircraft and well kept. It was so cool to be able to crawl around inside and take pictures of them.

i know that both the b-17's i listed earlyer used to give rides for i think it was 300.00+ for 15 min. flight. man i would have loved to have done that with my dad, but every year they were out here, he would call to see about it, and they had been booked for months.

The rides they were giving folks here were close to 30-45 minutes. I was hoping they would stay put for a few minutes so I could get some better pics of the 17, but it was almost like they were doing ERO's (Engine Running Onload) and away they went with the next lucky group of folks. I could only briefly see the left side of the fuselage as they taxied in and then spun around 180 for the next load. Wasnt able to get any pics before I had to leave. :o( Next year though,.... next year. "Q"

Oh, man oh man...I have a TON of pictures of 909 and Dragon and His Tail/All American. When I get a chance, I'll get about 20 or so in my gallery. (I have easily 40-50. What a great day!) Thanks for your time.

PLEASE don't tell me these were at Pete last weekend for the In Their Honor air show. I had a chance to go down there but in the past it's been all modern stuff or nothing but T6 Texans. I've seen those all before and I wasn't interested. I've seen the B17 and B24 that fly around the country, they both flew right over my house in Security a few years ago, but I didn't think they'd be back in town so soon. Please, please, please don't tell me I missed them.

I rode on 909 a couple years ago with my wife's grandfather who was a B-17 Ball Turret Gunner in WWII. It was the first time he had been up in one since he was shot down in '44. He was a POW for 9 long months. It was an awesome ride, about 45 minutes in the air and another 15-20 on the ground with pre and post flight checks. I loved it and it was great to experience it with him as well.
