You know I don't get Tamiya, they have the ability I bet to build and offer one of the most bad to the bone F18's and they don't, their F16 kit all three scales is legendary the F4 phantoms are legendary, the F-14's are legendary.........it just makes no sense to me! I bet if they offered one, it would come with wing folds..........guaranteed!

Meng has a new 18 on the way that looks nice (I believe you can fold the wings). Tamiya does what they want. Modeling is a small part of their corporation.

Troy's right, Mr. T does what he wants in the way that he wants to do it.

I have read that Mr T won't produce it if he doesn't want to build it personally, however in the world of the all mighty buck........if you look at how fast and at what rate that the F14 sells at in 1/48 scale this would be a license to print money........at least in my eyes anyways.

Not so sure about that. I'm a fan of the Hornet myself, but I know a lot of people have never liked it. They consider it a sub-par performer and blame it for the demise of the F-14. What with the excellent Kinetic legacy kits and the new Meng Super Hornet, Tamiya may just not consider it a big money maker. Just my 2 shekels.

here's a super dumb questions, what's the release date on that Meng F18, I was on the Meng site, and couldn't get the air craft models to load, only the armor.
