WOW!!! Just WOW!!! THIS is certainly a "must buy", (probably TWO of them), for me! I hope HK will follow suit with E and F models, as well! The earlier B, C, or D-versions would probably be too much to hope for. But then again, who knows..?

I can envision the after-market people having a bunch of "field days" with this one! Different decal sets for sure! Not a doubt in my mind that there will be a "boatload" of multi-media and PE stuff coming from EDUARD!

This announcement by HK MODELS can also be viewed at:

www.themodellingnews.com

Their announcement has a few more pics and a few more "liner-notes".

Eagle-eyed modelers, take note:

In the lower left corner of the box-art, there is a little "legend" which states,

"The B-17 Series"... Let's hope that there really WILL be a series of different B-17 types coming from HK MODELS...

Thank You, Tim!

I am curious as to what the price range will be? When a 1/48 P-38 has a price of $80. retail, I wonder what this bad boy will go for.

Brilliant news! The Monogram B-17G is pretty long in the tooth and the Revell B-17F likewise. Hopefully as has already been posted a B17E and F will follow. As for the likely price point - be afraid!

I remember building Monogram's B-17 when I was about 7 or 8. I'm 55 now, so yeah it's been around a while.

Hi, Troy!

Right you are. Be prepared to pay over $150.00 USD, judging from what HK gets for their '32-scale B-17s... Sad, but that's the high 21st century prices for EVERYTHING nowadays. A brand-new "cheapie-Puddle-Jumper" car will run over $17,000.00 RETAIL, anymore...

If the new 1/48 HK B-17s retail for less than $150.00 USD, I'll be surprised...

In the cynical and smart arse manner of publicity and promotion it probably will cost less than $150.00

$149.99

Just like the $17k car has a LOW under $17k sticker price of $16,995.

On line the MSRP has been at the $100 point so far. And apparently Mr. Yan has stated that the Lancatser and B-25J will also be coming out in 1/48 over the next 6 months.

On hannants here in the UK it's listed for £105.00 seeing the detail of the sprue shots on Facebook the only things I'd swap out are the gun barrels for Resin or brass and probably Eduard's brassin resin wheels but there will be tons of aftermarket to go at for this I think the old Revell/Monogram kits I have up the loft will be used to do battle damages birds as I don't think I'd dare carve up such a gorgeous model with that price tag
