Many thanks to Paul at The Model Cellar for letting us know that Merit International are developing a range of 1:24 WWI aircraft. Two subjects have been announced so far - the Fokker Dr.1 and S.E.5a.

Frankly speaking the plastic parts do not look too promising, do they?

Any info on whether aftermarket companies are working on upgrades for this? Mainly source for 1/24 seatbelts and improved Spandau machineguns?

Hi Ivan

All I've heard of so far is The Model Cellar's accompanying figures. Manfred von Richthofen is the first:

Paul's first-hand appraisal of the Fokker was "it's pretty cool... pretty cool to have a kit of it THAT size!". The kits are certainly coming in at a very attractive price in the UK that'll mean it won't break the bank to add whatever aftermarket extras are available.

All the best

Rowan
