Thanks Andy,

Is that P-51 an ex Accurate Miniatures mould?

^ Yep, it says so on the first picture of the actual kit:

What about the La-7, I presume that would be the Hobbycraft kit?

From the glamor shots, both look very good; whoever built the P-51 did not do Academy any favors with the wing-fuselage seams. If I didn't know it is an AM kit, I would probably suspect problems with the molding. I've never seen a HC La-7 but it looks like a very good model.

I'm really interested in the P-51B. Every Accurate Miniature's kit I've built has had a very nicely detailed cockpit. Part fit was generally very good. Looking forward to it.

Hi guys
I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for the P-51.I have a bit of a soft spot for the B/C versions.
Any ideas if it has the Malcolm Hood as an option?.

Cheers

Chris

I checked my AM P-51B in the stash. Assuming it is a carbon copy of the original kit, it will come with the choice of standard canopy (closed) or malcolm hood.

The La-7 does appear to be the HC kit, which is not a bad thing. It's actually pretty good in dimension, better in fact than the more detailed Gavia kit. I had been hoping to see it re-released.
