Let us please hope that the Trumpeter Shape Mistaker didn't work on this one.

Like Jessie I really want this to be a decent kit, without the Trumpeter bugger ups present.

If Gaston wants to have a dig at it, I hope he at least waits until he gets the kit in his hands.......

In other words, don't give up on my Classic Airframes' kit that's buried in the stash? Mayhap someone can get one built before the rounds start flying downrange? It is a shame that, since we have been disappointed so often by Trumpeter, we must assume right off that a new kit will be flawed. Thus it is instantly put under the microscope and dissected for errors, instead of looking for the good points that one would think it should have. Having been a styrene addict for over 50 years, I've not seen a company such as Trumpeter, which has access to input from the best of specialists in modeling, yet consistently puts out a product that has potential for serious errors - and they continue in business too. We need one of these in 1/32 scale, I'm hoping that Tamiya do it

I love the Whirlwind! If only it had reliable engines. I've been hoping for new kits of it. Yes Mal, I hope Tamiya is listening.

I actually remember building the 1/72 scale Airfix kit years ago. There was just something intriguing about this aircraft. Will most likely add one to my growing stash.

Hi Mal

Maybe in a parallel universe. Much as I'd love to see it happen in ours, sadly I don't the Whirlwind is a subject that Tamiya would touch with a bargepole.

All the best

Sadly Rowan you are correct, what I should have said is, I hope that Trumpeter don't up-scale theirs, unless there 1/48 one is spot on but I won't hold my breath! It's a pity that Airfix don't produce kits in 1/32 scale because I reckon that they might do this; they might do it in 1/24 scale though

Oh I have done the Cooper detail's one and the Classic Airframe's one too! I only hope that basically the shape and volumes will be OK with Trumpy, the rest I'll take care of. Gaston is also spreading his talents on French sites too, so don't worry, be happy!

Interesting development! I love the Whirlwind, and built the CA kit when it first came out. That was right after I just got back into aircraft modeling, so it was not my best effort. I'm thinking about sprucing it up. I have another in the stash, too. We'll have to see what Trumpeter does with it. When they put their mind to it, they can do a good job, but you guys are right, it's hard to think of another modern company with so many poorly researched and executed kits to their name.
