Modelsvit's Yak-1b is the best 1/48th aircraft kit I have ever seen by quite some margin. I have five of them and plan to buy five more (my only multiple purchase aircraft kit), so rich are the colour schemes and slogans variety: At least one amazing decal sheet with 14 subjects is out there now, plus quite a few older ones...: The biggest difficulty is finding the appropriate Soviet seat belts: The interior set has them, so it looks like I will get at least five...

The kit's only outline error is that the bottom of the rudder is not rounded enough. Basically nothing. No tear-drop fuselage plan view and Typhoon-like wings like the Accurate Miniatures kit...

Surface detail and accuracy is incredible, and it is better in the clear parts than the South Front Yak-1 Razorback kit on which it is based.

This kit is truly awesome in a way beyond even what the 1/48th Hobby Boss T-34s can evoque.
