Well, after a day at duxford airshow baking in the sun, i decided (wisely or not!!!) to purchase a 1:48 scale lancer. It came in a HUGE box and having opened it and looked at it it seems rather daunting

Has anyone built one of these before? Any advice please

Having built two in my life I will never build another one
first one me and my dad built when i was a kid,me and my brothers thought because it was so big it could fly so we threw it out the second story window......It didn't.

Second one I built recently for the Big Beautiful Bombers campaign.Pics are there.
The issues I had were as follows:
1)where you attach the cockpit/nose assembly to the fuselage you need to make that seam line disappear as it is none existent on the real deal.there was alot of sanding and filling here
2)The landing gear look beefy but there not, make sure you give them a day at least to dry before you set this big bird on them. They dont take the weight so well.
3)The intakes on the engines are incorrect and missing the intake vanes so I scratch built some.

Thats about it really now it sits in the corner and is gigantic. It was a cool build to do because of the size for sure.
Hope this helps
