MPM Production have sent us some test shot photos of the forthcoming Special Hobby Morane Saulnier AI kit (SH48099). The sprues are visible as well as an unpainted built up model.

Just an FYI. If you want to build Walter Shaffer's machine - with the "blue birds" - it looks like you'll need to modify the upper, forward fuselage. His machine had a single gun and was known as the MoS.27.C1, while "out of the box" it looks like the model will build the MoS.29.C1 (twin Vickers version).

I suspect there will also be modification needed if you want to build the trainer version with the 120hp LeRhone instead of the "standard" Gnome engine.

I already performed some research when I was building the beautiful Czechmaster MoS Type AI.

However, I still haven't found decent photos showing the modifications necessary to "backdate" the MoS.29.C1 to the MoS.27.C1. If anyone finds some, please share!

Hi Jean-Luc

Thanks for the News item - and Matt for the extra info.

It really does look a great little kit! Definitely one for the want-list.

All the best

Mine arrived Saturday April 3, 2010. The good news is that the kit comes with a very nice set of insets that will allow for either the single gun (PP B 27 ) or twin gun (PP B 7 ) set ups!

Anyway you could scan the instructions and kit parts for the single-gun version, please? I've been wanting to build it in 1/72 but haven't had much luck figuring out how it looked.

Thanks.

Nice to see that the kit has this options for the single or double guns . Once I'm back to working again I will have to get this kit for the French collection .
Looking forward to the review Stephen .

Well Matt, this is an option:

The etched set of the Copper State's Morane AI. I bought it by separate.
