OH Crumbs !,Not another post Battle Of Britain version, when are we gonna get a chance to own a MK 1. WITHOUT having to pay a fortune on E-Bay for Hasegawa`s version or settleing for Revell`s version which is SORELY in need of re-tooling.
Thanks for nothing Tamiya !!

The Mark IX was the most prolific mark of Spitfire, IIRC. If there is going to be a 1/32 version, I'd rather it be the IX than a I. Either way, the "thanks for nothing" nonsense just sounds petulant. If you don't want a Mark IX, that's just fine - don't buy one.

I`m very happy Tamiya is doing the MkIX in 32nd scale. Not my fancy to do pre-orders, but, when they come I`ll post another installment in the ``What the Postman Brought`thread.

The only complaint I have is that the JE-J colors have already been over-done. Although MK392 may have been colorful, I`ll be looking for alternatives.

I agree wit Danny to a certain extent, for me the definitive Spitfire will always be the Mk.1. After all if it wasn't for the Mk.1, there would have been no requirement for a Mk. IX. Plus the Mk.1 just looks so much prettier

After "fixing" the RoG BF110, I will be THRILLED to build this one OOB. Mark I, Mark IX, I don't really care. I understand those who want a BoB version, but I'm just a duffer with RAF planes and look forward to a build without the need for 2x-3x the kit price in AM #$%&.

I built Matchbox's 1:32 Mk 22-24 (sortof I think) in my teens and never thought I'd build a Spit in 32 again. Now I know I will. And without "AM#¤%&". I will however wait and see if someone shows up with decals for the IX Pierre Clostermann flies in larger parts of his book "The big show". When that happens, it's a deal!

(....0,4 mm cowlings - Yummy....)

Tony,
There is no need to wait, have you thought about trying masks? In fact I have already produced masks for one of Clostermann's aircraft As a member of the KitMaker net work you get a 10% discount I have also already done Johnny Johnsons aircraft as well, including the maple leaf

Hi Steffen

Very nice! The fabric effect on the rudder does look very exaggerated though...

Hi Rowan

well, follow the link it does not look quite as bad on the other pix .. maybe a problem of reworking the pictures ... but in the end, not my scale so I don't care.

all the best

Steffen

Darn typing, seems I replaced my teh error by th e ... but maybe it's just an additional mistake.

Hi Steffen

Yes, it could just be the decal sitting proud over the rib-tapes - the comparison shot of the tails looks much better.

All the best

It looks to be a winner. And it will end up in my home. Of course, I really want a BoB Spit. So everybody, be patient and play nice. I am sure a Mk.I will show up soon.

It might be the light from above on the picture. In real it looks ok...

No way .. that's why I wrote "we" (for IPMS Deutschland) instead of "I" when I (personally and in plastic) get a sample ... and there will be a few soon

cheers
