Hola!

Im doing the Academy/MRC 1/35th scale BlackHawk helicopter and are looking for all the reference that I can get for it. Things I especially need to find is how the rope down works, when the soldiers rope to the ground. Like what altitude, dimensions of ropes, where the ropes are attached etc. Also looking for the crew compartment pictures, i.e. Cockpit and rear crew compartment. Alsso need to know how the soldiers get down on the rope, the correct procedures etc. I am doing it either as an Iraqi Freedom chopper or a training exercise dio. Im planning to do it either as a rope repelling dio, or a chopper thats on the ground unloading troops.
Thanks guys!

This is a A model but still a very useful reference:

I'd also say that the height from which you rappel you fast-rope down from the UH-60 varies depending on the mission.

Even though this is a Huey,a Blackhawk nevertheless can do it at the exact same altitude. The best altitude I would guess is about 50-150ft.Any lower and you may as well just hop off if the area permits it.

Check out this link for the basic instructions on rappeling from a helo.Click on rappeling from a UH-60 Blackhawk.

The rope would be the standard nylon-rope that mountain climbers, and the military uses.

Hola!

Im not doing the repelling, but the 'fast roping' instead. Larger rope which can support a wire to support the helicopter in mid air

Thanks again!!
