Frank Luke, Jr., "The Balloon Buster"
Frank Luke, Jr., Medal of Honor, "The Balloon Buster", was from Arizona. He preferred solo sorties and focused on burning heavily defended observation balloons. He became USAS' second highest scoring Ace of WWI, with 18 victories. On his final flight witnesses testified that he burned three balloons and shot down two fighters.

Luke AFB in Arizona is named in his honor.
Spad XIII
