Samuel Like Paul said the grainy/dusty effect is from the paint being dry when it gets to the surface of the model. I have used Tamiya acrylics through an airbrush and had the same issue. Sorry mate, this kit came out about 20 years ago. They do pop up on ebay here and there from $200 U.S to about $400 U.S Kit not worth paying that much for though, my brother brought one for $120 AUS when they came out.
